In life, the most meaningful stories often begin when we least expect them. Ours started in a simple classroom, where the roles of instructor and student quietly set the stage for something much deeper.
gue of mine was on leave. It wasn’t part of any grand plan—I simply wanted to help. Jane was one of those students. Bright, curious, and passionate about her course. I didn’t know then that our paths would soon become inseparable. As part of my duties, I also served as one of the panelists for their Title Proposal. During that period, students would often reach out for clarification, revisions, or advice on their projects. One afternoon, Jane messaged me to ask a few questions about their proposal. It was all formal and academic, just part of the routine. But there was something about our interaction that felt... natural.
The next day, our conversations turned casual. From academic queries, we began to talk about everyday things—school, life, even random little moments that made us laugh. We didn't realize it then, but something was quietly growing between us.
Then came a simple Facebook post. Jane posted a guessing game on her feed—a playful challenge with a small prize. I joined in, commented, and surprisingly guessed the right answer. She messaged me directly to let me know I won, and as a thoughtful reward, she sent me a cup of milk tea. But it wasn’t just the milk tea that stayed with me—it was the note that came with it: “Do not get stressed.”
That single gesture, kind and unexpected, opened the door to something more meaningful. From then on, we talked more often. We shared our stories, our struggles, our dreams. I saw not just a student, but a woman full of strength, kindness, and ambition. It didn’t take long before I invited her out for dinner—not as a student, but as someone I truly wanted to get to know beyond the classroom.
We kept growing closer. Our bond deepened. And on one of the most memorable days of her life—her graduation day—I asked her to be my girlfriend.
From that moment on, we built a relationship grounded in mutual respect, support, and love. We've weathered challenges, celebrated victories, and continued to grow—not only as individuals but as partners in life.
Now, we're ready to take the next step. With grateful hearts and full of love, we're excited to say:
We're getting married.
And we can't wait to celebrate this new chapter with all the people who’ve witnessed, supported, and cheered us on since the beginning.
